Hi children,
I am looking for some kind of small business accounting software to use here at my school. I recently took an interest in our accounts and they are disgustingly disorganised and the amount of extra work its creating is yuck.
Basically I need something that can keep a record of each student, payments made, payments due, receipt numbers etc. Can anyone recommend some good software to use? Or if anyone could point me in the direction of where to find out a little bit more about this kinda thing it would be swell.
Thanks in advance,
Your friend bundibundi.

To reduce costs, you could utilise an open source accounting application (instead of buying something bulky like MYOB)Hi children,

A review from accountingdegree.net has the following;
http://www.accountingdegree.net/open-so ... ftware.php
1. Compiere | http://www.compiere.com/
2. Open Systems | http://www.opensystemsinc.com/osi/
3. TurboCash | http://www.turbocash.net/
4. GNUCash | http://www.gnucash.org/
5. NolaPro | http://www.nolapro.com/
You could trial those 5 and make a decision based on what sort of requirements you need.
If you'd like to compare each of the above applications to see what they have and what they do not, check out the below link on Wikipedia which will show comparisons of each available software app;
