Bovril.
I bet you can't get it at a Premier League game.
You most certainly can!

I used to serve it when I worked at Old Trafford.

I stand corrected.

I'm in Lagos, Nigeria at the moment for a few weeks on business. This is some kind of crazy place, but if I get asked to stay (depending on the offer) I'll drop everything to come back.

First day I landed I thought it was not my kind of place. But 24 hours in, I was a convert.

Africa gets under your skin.

My company has just embarked on a large petro-chem project and I'm over here to lend my expertise in the start up. Also doing some systems training for the locals while I'm here.

Its just got a vibe to it that's quite indescribable. Its a crazy place, no doubt - truly African. You drive down these streets where everything looks dilapidated - and then then you rock up at a gate in front of a building (everything is gated for safety/security reasons) and the guards will let you in and its an awesome bar or restaurant or something. Completely unsignposted.

The roads are so bad that in some places you have to weave from one side of the road to the other (at 5km per hour) to traverse the terrain - and this is in downtown Victoria Island - about as metropolitan as you can get - and on the freeways its every man for himself.

The people are terrific and the nightlife is hectic. Probably the most amazing I've encountered.

Its all of those things and its none of those things.

Actually, it may be the women who've converted me lol

How many of you guys would consider taking a trip to Jordan atm? We were literally just about to finalise our flights and itinerary.

We were aware of the ISIS threat across the border, but Jordan is a very liberal and safe arab country.

Now that Jordan is leading the fight we have all but postponed our plans. Its highly unlikely any action will happen within jordans borders but im thinking suicide bombings are a threat now.

We were planning to spend time in both jordan and israel and were hiring a private guide in both countries to manage our transport and activities / safetly.

Anyone been who can dispel the hype in the papers right now?

I'm brother in law went there about a year ago. He loved it. Only issue he had was that one of the girls he was travelling with was basically sexually assaulted in the street by a group of teenage boys, he and a friend had to basically fight those dogs off. So I'd just be mindful of that. But as I said he loved the rest of his time.

Yeah that basically sums up everything i have heard also.

Its not jordan or its people im concerned about, not one bit. Its the potential for revenge attacks as there are reported to be 3000 isis sympathisers in amman ( jordans capital ).

Sadly may have to put this trip off at least until next year, which means bumping forward Chile and Argentina to this year. Not a bad swap i suppose.

Not a bad swap at all.
