Water everywhere, 13 dead and shitloads missing and it's gonna get worse yet.

Death toll is gonna rise and the place is gonna be a mess for ages.

Poor bastards.

my folks live about 50 m from the river. slightly concerned for their house given that ch9 keeps showing a shot panning across their stretch of river! yikes.

that flash flood in toowoomba is just off the dial as well, the fkn place is on top of a mountain.

condolences to the families of the victims, & hope WATR's qld contingent manages to stay dry!

Yeah Toowoomba is 700m above sea level - and to get those kind of floods there is crazy.

I live about 100m from the river, and while at the moment things seem OK if the river rises to 4 metres like they're predicting things could be a bit dire...

What i cant believe is that this is not a flood in some far away town in the tropics, its one of our major cities!! really is a terrible thing i hope after the water is gone the insurance companies man up and pay out unlike they did for the bushfires!!

From as adelaide perspective, All this water is supposed to make its way to down within a month apparently and its feared the flooding could be worse then the one in the 50's

the water flowing into Brisbane won't come to SA, the Brisbane river empties into the sea.

The playing surface is under water also.

I've got a feeling that the Roar are going to go all the way - what an amazing thing it would be for Brisbane to host a Grand Final straight after the flood carnage. Like N'awlins at the Super Bowl. I think the feeling of unity would be immense.

More immediately, the Phoenix game won't be played at Suncorp this weekend (unsurprisingly) - http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/flo ... eague-game
Nothing brings a city / state together like a natural disaster.

Can't believe what's happening up there, it's horrible... Thoughts go out to everyone affected by the floods. :(

Hope Ago's couch doesn't get wet. :(

Seriously though it's shit isn't it, hopefully they'll get through this fine, would like to see the club do something for them. I know a group of Adelaide and Melbourne fans are thinking about getting together for a charity game.

Thankfully I live on the first floor (although downstairs is also part of mine, but I've nothing of value down there), but I'm in Kangaroo Point which is right on the river. I've just been for a walk and 2 streets away from me is underwater.

I'll post some pics for you'se in a bitsy.

My dear friend up there is OK, although her stepdad told me she's stuck at work and her husband couldn't get out of the house. Will call again to see what happens.

Yes, banding together in times of disaster and national tragedy is a great trait. But it should also serve as a timely reminder that humanity has survived for eternity as families, communities, tribes and nations. We will not survive if we continue along the line of atomised, self-absorbed, selfish individualism that has pervaded so much of our life.

I'm in Adelaide and I'm scared.
