Re: Qld!
Anyone thought of maybe as a "football community" WATR's could chuck some money into an E-Hat and donate it to the Roar supporter group? (assuming its welcomed)
Sure its avoiding the real issues of the flood and seems quite trivial, but its also a symbol of one footballing community supporting the other.
If it only helped them fund a good Tifo for their first home final or helped them set up a discounted travel pack for their Away final im sure it would make a difference.
I dunno, but i know id donate to that if there was such a thing

Re: Qld!
I would definitely donate to something like that.
Could also get some banners going to show solidarity with the people of Brisbane - there are obviously more important things than football but the ability of sports etc to draw people together and provide some normalcy & optimism in difficult times shouldn't be underestimated.
Or we could buy them some material to make waterproof pullovers.. or bright orange floaties.. or an official Den kayak...

All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Re: Qld!
If anyone wants to donate to a cause, I will post some details later.
Yesterday's Advertiser had an article about Steve and Sandy Matthews who lost their lives whilst saving their 2 youngest children. The Matthews family are personal friends of mine, and I often stayed at their place in Wollongong when we all lived in NSW. Steve and Sandy were beautiful people.
Anyway, the 2 youngest - Victoria and Sam have lost everything (including their parents) and need help. I will post details later on where you can donate. Otherwise, if you prefer you are able to donate to the entire community through the usual channels.
However you are able, I'd urge everyone to give. No amount is insignificant. Many people in Queensland have lost EVERYTHING.

Re: Qld!
the storm as a whole is almost as big as the USA... i think i heard 280kph winds... my heart and thoughts are with those that are going to be directly affected by this.
i fear what the morning will bring... it's going to be a long night, and possibly days...
