England's weakness - why?

Hi there,
The debate about England being very "brittle" at major championships goes on. I do wonder if the prevailing racism among England fans - (those who would have voted exit in the 'Brexit' if they had enough brain cells to be politically aware) - just switches the team's star black players off. Playing well for your club when you're paid very well for doing so is a much different psychology of effort/reward than playing for a national side that represents some of the most racist fans in existence. Why would such players even raise their game to care about such a country?
