He has shown moments of quality for the Socceroos but in his 50 or so game career we're probably talking about 5 of less times. The rest of the time he's just run around like a headless chook and fluffed many of the chances he's offered. I almost put those times of quality down to dumb luck.
At Socceroos level I think he's a squaddie at best. Which obviously means he's good at HAL level. It would be great if the HAL as a bit longer and these sort of players came back to it. As we've seen with Troisi twice now a decent run in the HAL can do wonders for your Socceroos career.
Although with Kruse it doesn't seem to matter how much he plays at club level!

James Holland is back in the Austrian Bundesliga having signed with newly promoted Lask Linz.

Great news for him. It'll be interesting if that gets him in the Socceroos spotlight, and if so game time.
If that happens I'd be pretty annoyed if my name happened to be James Jeggo.

We will see a direct duel between Holland at Lask Linz and Jeggo at Sturm Graz this season.

Having seen them play both here in Austria and in Adelaide I personally believe Jeggo is the better player and will become even better this season.

But what is important for the Socceroos is that they both play regularly in their respective first teams.

Holland is crap.

Would be miles from the national team imo.

Considering players don't need clubs to make the NT I'd say he's already inline for a call up! :D

I guess we can add McGree to this list.....though given his age and the fact he's just found his feet in the A-League (as opposed to dominating) I will be watching with some trepidation.

In that vein, any news on Awer following Esbjerg's relegation? I assume he's back fighting for a starting position in Midtjylland.

I wonder how much of this could be avoided if the A-league had a few more teams and many more games.

"Awer Mabil has joined compatriot Dylan McGowan at Portuguese top tier side Pacos de Ferreira on a season-long loan."

They also have an option to purchase built into the loan agreement. Good luck to him.

An exciting move. Also provides some insight as to how strong a squad Midtjylland must have if they are loaning out to the Portugese top flight.

Yes good point. Although its probably a financial thing as well.

I wonder if McGowan had anything to do with the move?

Aurelio Vidmar leaves Bangkok Glass because its a pissant town apparently.

Club officials interfering with player selections and texting viddie mid game to tell him what actions to take next.
