Hello everyone! new member here, and a Dane. I lived in Adelaide for 2 years where I started following the Reds, but I am now back in Denmark.

Seeing Mabil go to the arch rivals of my local team here in Denmark was a tough one to swallow, but I do hope he does well. With my luck, he will probably score his first Superliga goal the next time FCM comes to Viborg...

Anyway he looked good against Næstved and the people I know in Herning are pretty excited about him and want to see him play more. Hopefully soon...

Welcome to the forum Bilbo!
And the Internationals welcome you.
Good to have a AU supporter in Denmark.

Having a "natural speaker" on the ground over there is great.
Looking forward to your post on Awer's journey in the Superliga.

Thanks! FCM seem committed to bringing him up slowly and they do have one of the strongest squads in the Superliga with some very good offensive players. It will probably be a while before he's contending for a spot in the starting 11, especially since Pione Sisto wasn't sold during the transfer window.

Hopefully we'll see him in some more cup games though, and on the bench in a couple of Superliga games. His speed is unparralled in the squad I think and I could see him really doing a number on some of the more defensive sides, coming off the bench.

Welcome aboard, Bilbo. Never made it as far as Viborg however was enjoying a few beers nearby in Aarhus the other day where I ran into an Adelaide United supporter who was working in a small café. It seems we are everywhere!

Welcome to the forum.

Speed is handy thing. It can get a players foot in the door as it gives the team a back up option to throw at the opposition. It worked for Awer to get in the first 11 here, so hopefully it does there while he works on his technical skills :)

Australia is a popular destination for us Danes and we do love our football  Gotta support your local team whereever you are in the world I say. Watching the EPL on tv is all well and good, but football was meant to be watched at the stadium!

Yes. Awer got his debut, when he was a substitution in the second half of the cup game against Næstved from the second best division in Denmark.

You can follow how he is doing in Denmark through this thread(it is danish, but try google translate:)

Thanks very interesting read.
BTW Awer was on the bench in the U23's friendly in Korea last night. They play again in the coming days so maybe he'll get a run then.

Thanks for the updates on Awer in terms of his international duties.

By the way Awer has been selected for the 21 man-squad (which means 3 players will be withdrawed from the squad on match day tomorrow). It is the first time Awer has been selected for a league game, but he might be one of the 3 players removed from the squad before the game.
