Soccer: An arrogant elitest sport in USA?

Postby Stuckey Mon May 05, 2014 10:53 am

The edict from my daughter’s soccer team manager arrived Monday morning: A state cup match had been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday in Vancouver, Wash., a two-and-a-half hour drive from our home in Seattle. Families were expected to travel and check into a hotel Saturday night. Players were required to appear at a breakfast and pregame strategy session with the coach at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Did I mention that my daughter and her teammates are just 10 years old?

Interesting that it is becoming the complete opposite to what it is everywhere else in the world!

This is a country that packs out full stadiums for big highschool and college games of most sports. They all want a scholarship and will do anything to get it.

There are schools with stadiums and training facilities that dwarf that of any Aleague club so of course thats going to trickle down the year levels.
Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie
