The German Budesliga- a model for the future?

Postby sevengoals Tue Dec 04, 2012 9:12 pm

There has been debate in Germany recently after a series of incidents of football fan violence...
Interesting to read about another football culture and how they see the game.

The watershed moment for German football famously arrived at the 2000 European Championship in Belgium and Holland. An embarrassing performance at that tournament went on to trigger the transformation of the German game into a flourishing all-round culture that is increasingly envied across Europe.

When I get a chance I'll read those but I have been saying for a while the Bundesliga club structure model is one all clubs around the world should follow. My hope is that with the AUFC financial membership our club is taking its first steps towards the fan ownership side of it. Hopefully a strong focus on youth development is in the pipeline as well. I just hope the club doesn't sit around and wait for the FFA to assist. We must be proactive in this area just as CCM and Newcastle are already.

Certainly they are looking good at the moment. Dortmund were simply awesome this morning.
