Somebody in America has the balls to tell it like it is. Why does nobody do the same here?
Fuck your notions of æthereal quintessences and put the ball in the back of the net.

Re: Reject Anti-Materialism in Association Football
Thank the hordes of G-14 worshipping brand consumers who would rather get up in the middle of the night to watch some Man U or Real Madrid or some other team on the other side of the world, to which they have zero real connection, than bother watching their home town club play good football, live, in continental competition. It's these pricks that hold football back, if everyone that enjoyed the game actually supported the domestic game Australia would be a far greater force in the football world.Somebody in America has the balls to tell it like it is. All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Let me be the first to say, the USA's current home strip is sexy.

However the point of that article was that US soccer is already extremely strong and the only reason nobody recognises this is because the goalposts keep getting shifted.
You could say the same for Australia. People wait for the country to become a "true footballing nation" But can't see that it already is. 90% of the time in the Top 20 to 25 ranked countries, every game considered winnable, expected to challenge for Asian title every Asian cup, WC qualification is a must and missing out on the knock out stage on *GOAL DIFFERENCE* is considered a pathetic failure.
