Sepp wants penalties gone

Postby Stuckey Sat May 26, 2012 12:24 am

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has labelled penalty shoot-outs "a tragedy" and challenged Franz Beckenbauer to come up with an alternative.

Beckenbauer, honorary president of Bayern Munich, is also head of the Football Task Force 2014 which has been charged with recommending rule changes and Blatter said the body should now look at penalty shoot-outs.

Please tragic! Yes its sucks to lose but unless you're gonna start giving everyone a medal just for showing up its how it has to be!

This reeks of stupidity! I worry a half baked mickey mouse idea is going to be implimented before its properly thought out!

A tragedy since bayern munchen lost the champions league on penalties?

Please.

If you're not going to put goal line technology in, then why take something out.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sepp is scared shitless about the germans. They are often tightening the screws on him and probably have to power to give him the boot. So he's doing all he can to keep them happy!

If bayern won on penalties nothing would have been said about the issue.

Deal with it,

Put your chances away and it wont be on penalties

Yeah Sepp, lets go back to a coin toss to decide the game. Dickhead.

The penalty shoot out in the League One playoff final on Saturday night (Huddersfield <3) was one of the most remarkable pieces of sport I've seen in a long while.

Each team must take off one player for each 5 minutes of extra time, with golden goal. If it gets to 1 v 1 and nobody's scored, the two guys left on the pitch have to settle it the old fashioned way, mano a mano.
Emailing Blatter now.

if it comes down to 1 v 1. the coaches should step in and settle it

I reckon they should take a leaf out of crickets book. Go back to the days on timeless tests. Just keep playing till someone scores. If it takes two days so be it!
