Relegation. Is it worth debating?

Postby sevengoals Tue Oct 18, 2011 10:55 pm

The chief executive of the League Managers Association has warned that owners of a number of Premier League clubs are talking about trying to scrap promotion and relegation in order to safeguard their investments.

"There are a number of overseas-owned clubs already talking about bringing about the avoidance of promotion and relegation in the Premier League," said Richard Bevan. "If we have four or five more new owners, that could happen."

Excuse me.
We're not talking burger joints here.
The Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan insists he would pull his team out of the Premier League if promotion and relegation was scrapped in the English top flight.

Sir Alex also thinks the idea sucks.
I wonder what Harry thinks? :D

I look forward to promotion/relegation for the A-league.
Football in Australia will go to another level when relegation and promotion are introduced.

That would be a disgrace.

Worst idea in the world,

I think owners are getting itchy feet with this salary cap of sorts that is supposed to be introduced soon.

If there is relegation then there is not much to play for as the premier league is dominated by very few..
Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie
