Loving FC Ube Yahhh-man.
There are so many great regional teams, particularly when you look at their websites.

There's a team in Hokkaido (the northern island) that has somewhat of a cult following due to its name: Blackpecker Hakodate.

There's also (or used to be, not sure about now) a team whose teamsheet, according to its website, had three players called "Neko-chan" and are cats. Just three to five pictures of their pet cats throughout the senior men's team page.
If I can remember which team it is, I'll look for the page and post a link.

dagenham & redbridge - 4 years ago were in the conferences, now fighting above their weight in league 1. went and saw them play charlton at the end of last year. only reason i follow them - they were the worst english team in FIFA 08, so of course I chose them for my manager mode and still do to this day, followed them ever since.

Highlights - first game I ever saw of them on TV(online) was a 6 - 0 record breaking drubbing of morecambe in the first leg playoffs. 2 weeks later winning at Wembley to get into League 1 for the first time 3 years after reaching league 2 for the first time. Watching them come from behind to draw 2-2, trying to hide my celebrations as I was sitting in the Charlton supporters area.

Currently sitting in 19th with a few games in hand after a good undefeated run, but god they have an ugly bunch of supporters.

Not so interesting trivia - Former CCM dud Shane Huke was also a dud at dagenham before coming home.

Isn't Dagenham a rougher version of West Ham?

its definitely not the nicest area... and i counted about 15 teeth between the 1000 or so travelling supporters. i tend to unwillingly end up supporting teams with the biggest bogan fan bases... port, dagenham and palmeiras. guess im truly a bogan at heart, fuck yas all

Aye, being a devout Huddersfield fan I follow League One very closely and always keep an eye on the Daggers. Not that I have any affinity to them, but its good to see them punching well above their weight as you say.

Hope they can establish themselves at that level.

Although not that obscure the lower divisions of the scottish league holds their own facination.

I've always had a soft spot for The Warrors...Stenhousemuir

Remembering an old surreal comedy show from the 90's Mr Don and Mr George, who sagely warned "never sign a one year contract with Stenhousemuir"

Yeha good call. Its off topic (because its a different sport) but it reminds me of the Compton Cricket Club.

Czech team Bohemians 1905, its mascot is a kangaroo, the legacy of a 1927 tour of Australia. Following the tour, the club was awarded two live kangaroos, which they donated to the Prague Zoo.

Bummer man.

Be sure to subscribe to the 'Non League Show' podcast. It's great listening about what are mainly very obscure football clubs. Lincoln being one of the big players in the conference expect a lot of coverage.
