The 13-year-old supporter of Middlesbrough used his birthday money to buy the Reading shirt with Sigurdsson’s name on the back in July last year.
In August the Championship side decided to sell the Icelandic midfielder to German club 1899 Hoffenheim.
Jon’s father approached Reading asking for a refund for his son's shirt but when the club refused, he decided to take his claim to the county court in Middlesbrough.
