What a debut that'd be if it does happen! The thirty-year-old goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller had to abandon the training session on Tuesday afternoon. After a collision with Mats Hummels the left foot and knee of Weidenfeller were affected. Roman stated: "I could here a noisy Crack! around the knee". Until this evening his knee became swollen. In many cases a sign for ligament injuries.
Tomorrow morning a checkup with team doctor Markus Braun will be held and we all hope for the best. If he is just out of action because of sprained ligaments his appearance in the match vs Bayern Munich on Saturday evening would be still possible. If it comes to the worst youngster Mitchell Langerak would be standing between the sticks and debut in Munich. Any way we hope for a fast healing process of Roman's injury but are convinced that we have got a good stand-by with our young Aussie.

Re: Langerak to debut against Bayern Munich?
Setanta's playing the game live on Sunday morning at 3:55 AM (Adelaide time). Great, will definitely make sure I record it.
Oodles of potential, hopefully he gets a big boost by being thrown into the deep end. There are a few more complete Australian goalkeepers than him at the moment, so this will be a massive learning curve for him and hopefully be the first step to turning into the "future #1" that everyone claims.

This is freaking huge!
We have some great keepers but apart from schwarzter we dont really have anyone in a big league.
Along waltzes langerak fresh out of nappys and his first competitive game in europe and look where he is.
Good luck to him

Regardless it is a huge stage for the young lad and I hope he does well. We have a plethora of keepers however it is always good to see another Aussie on the big stage....... and let's face it, Dortmund v Bayern Munich is a big stage indeed.

15th minute 1-1. Munich with the equaliser, not much Langerak could've done.

Re: Langerak to debut against Bayern Munich?
In the interview at 1.02 min the trainer Klopp is praised for having a "good hand" in regards to Mitch Langerak and how well his debut went and Klopp replies that he had told his keeper that he would "not have been so cool" and he could be very proud of his debut.
At 1:18 they talk to the young keeper.
