Ronaldo Retires

IMO the greatest footballer I have even had to pleasure watching has retired.

Ronaldo was a huge reason why I started playing and loving Football.

I'll always remember Sunday mornings watching him on the Serie A highlights show hosted by Gary Bloom on SBS. So awesome!

Thanks for the memories!

At his peak he was certainly high on my list of all time favourites to watch in action. Shame his body (and diet) failed him over the latter stages of his career. Still gave us some fantastic memories over a wonderful career!

Ronaldo has left the building. No, not that Ronaldo, the other one. Fat Ronaldo. By the end, he didn't even have exclusive use of his own name anymore; some other guy had come and taken it from him. A prefix had become necessary, a defining trait -- and a pretty sad one at that. Fat Ronaldo. Does it really have to be this way? Can't we agree on Brazilian Ronaldo instead? Or Original Ronaldo? The Original and the Best?
