It felt a lot like the AUFC game last night at the end there. 10 players within 10 yards of the box and just can't get the ball in the net no matter how hard they tried.

(When can we mention Postecoglou? )
Have you found any article discussing why Ange REALLY left? I'm still in the dark on it.

Good question.

No VAR here?

Maclaren nearly decapitated in the box.

No VAR until Quarter finals for some reason

Also High Boot isn't a penalty so I don't think it can be given by VAR.

India beat Thailand 4-1. India have come a long way in the last few years.

Wow massive result! I'm sure the AFC is very happy to see India doing well!

That is a huge result for India; I was expecting them to get towled.

Palestine managed a 0-0 with Syria despite going down to 10 men at the 69' mark.

None of the games thus far have followed the form book.

Hopefully that means the Aussies can score a couple of bags full in coming games because based on last night that's certainly not in the form book! :(

China under the pump.
China 0 - 1 Kyrgyzstan
Half time

The goal scorer Israilov has been club less for months.
A 24 year old midfielder I believe, recently playing in Indonesia.

I hope AU has sent someone to the tournament to scout a few players.
I'm sure there is some talent there that we could afford.

2-1 in the end. I thought the Kyrgyz would hold out however it was too much in the end. A lucky escape for China.

Frustrating game for South Korea who had 82% possession but were held for most of the match by Philippines (who managed a few counters during that time). The Koreans know how to play tournament football, however, and ground out a 1-0 win.

Iran thumped Yemen 5-0.

B)
Looking at the squads there is a couple of unattached players.
But interesting that the HAL is the least represented national league out of all the nations taking part. I think that really highlights how poorly paid HAL players are compared to the rest of the region when we consider the standard of the HAL in the region.

Just 3.
I had quick look at the squads myself.
Poor that we have no current "Asian Internationals" playing in Australia if I'm not mistaken.
Missing opportunities on all levels.

'Aint that the truth.

Suadi belted 10-man North Korea 4-0 last night and Iraq overcame Vietnam 3-2 in a lively encounter.

I wonder if Honda would have been there if he wasn't injured?
Still 4 is no where near enough. It's yet another classic example of how Australia needs to pay more attention to Asia.
