Thailand v Matildas coming up, a game we should breeze through.

South Korea thumped Philippines 0-5 to secure the 5th World Cup spot.

We were bloody lucky to get past Thailand in the end. Not a good game from us.

Nadashiko looked very comfortable dispatching China 1-3.

I jsut noticed that this is the first time since the tournament began (1975) that the finals are being played in West Asia. Given the crowds I am not sure there will be a rush to hold it again in the West in 2022, but still, kudos to Jordan in their efforts to promote women's football in a the region.

The crossbar and the Japanese goal keeper (including a penalty save) kept us scoreless whilst the Japanese nabbed one. A defeat in the final but a vastly improved game from the Matildas. We were the better team on the night but not over the tournament.

The footballing rivalry between Japan and Australia continues. Long may it do so.
