HI guys,

Long time reader first time poster.

Im seriously considering going to the Gamba Osaka ACL game. Ill be in Tokyo when its scheduled but im pretty close to convincing the wife to make the train trip back (we will be in Osaka 2 weeks before)

Does anyone on here have any experience with purchasing away tickets to the ACL games. I cant seem to find them anywhere other than on the resell type website where the prices are inflated.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Timstead welcome.

I'd get in contact with Ed Trinh who is on twitter. I'm fairly sure he's attended the same fixture in the past.

If I had a dollar for every time I said I'd love to see AU play in Japan. I ne able to afford to go!

I tried getting the club to supply tickets to travelling supporters, but to no avail. I figure we've spent thousands getting there, that they might have had the heart to fork out 20-odd bucks to appease some fans and earn some goodwill, but apparently that's not on their agenda. Even on-selling tickets would have been welcome, but nope.

You can buy match day tickets at the gate or online via their centralised J.League ticketing website. Just follow the prompts here: http://www.jleague.jp/en/match/acl/2017/042502/ticket/ - I had no issues buying the ticket with my Travel Money Mastercard, so I'm guessing it'll take any VISA/Mastercard.

It's fairly easy to get to Suita Football Stadium as well. Catch one of the subway lines up to one of the monorail stations and switch to the monorail towards Banpakukinenkoen Station. From there it's just a short walk.

Thanks for the advise guys.

Ive contacted the club but im not getting any response. Ill probably just end up purchasing them from the J League website.

Going to head along to the Osaka Derby whilst over there as well.

Osaka will only be one stop on this trip for me, so I'll be shinkansen-ing out of there the next day after the game.

Oh the other option to get tickets is to know the players. :p

Unfortunately I only indirectly know some of the players so I don't have that luxury.

First leg of the knock-out stages. Guangzhou Evergrande only managed a 1-0 victory over Kashima Antlers which will make the return leg to Ibaraki a fraught affair.

From the Eastern Conference 1st leg:

Muangthong United v Kawasaki Frontale - 1-3 : Here endeth the Thais.
Guangzhou Evergrande v Kashima Antlers - 1-0
Shanghai SIPG v JiangsuSuning - 2-1
Jeju United v Urawa Reds - 2-0: A bit of work ahead of the Reds, but doable.

Sad Muangthong appear out. Still its wonderful to see a Thai club make the knock out stage.

I found highlights of the SIPG - Suning clash...

Ok....

so as predicted Kawasaki Frontale finished the job on Muangthong and went through 7-2 on aggregate;
Guangzhou Evergrande went down 2-1 to Kashima Antlers however with a 2-2 aggregate they went through on away goals;
Shanghai SIPG finished the cash splash with Jiangsu with another win to go through 5-3 on aggregate; and
Urawa Reds overcame their 0-2 loss to win 3-0 at home against Jeju to proceed to the Quarter Finals.

Wow. Quarterfinals at the ACL and Guangzhou Evergrande overcame a 4-0 away loss to finish 4-0 up at the end of normal time. It went to extra time where both sides scored a goal, leaving it 5-5 (away goals not counting in extra-time). Hence it was off to penalties where Shanghai SIPG finally came through as winners.

Out West it was a big away win for Perspepolis, 1-3, that saw them proceed against Al Ahli with a 5-3 aggregate. They will meet Al Hilal who defeated Al Ain 3-0 on aggregate.

The final game Uruwa v Kawasaki (currenly 1 - 3) is being played tonight.
