Haha I was going to start one too!

I keep saying it but I'm seriously going to look into travelling for an away game. Bring on a J-league side!

The 2017 ACL will come into play very soon, not least as:

(i) new recruitment will be done with the ACL in mind (an AFC foreigner perhaps), and;

(ii) Youth players will be already be eyeing off positions in the extended ACL squad (squad size of 30 this year, which means a good 6 or 7 youth in the squad depending on our foreigner mix).

The draw is apparently on the 12th in Kuala Lumpur.

Exciting times! I am hoping for a Korean or Japanese team purely for selfish reasons relating to my ability to attend :D

So China has over taken Australia in the league points ranking meaning they have taken Australia's play off round spot. Meaning Brisbane will have to play an extra game of qualification like Shandong did before they beat AU.
I wonder if the FFA will start taking a little more notice of the AFC's demands on things now?

I am not entirely sure. Sometimes the FFA appears to operate in a bubble.

For sure. I think things like this are the only way they'll wake up to the fact they aren't in control of it all.

I also read that the rules on foreign players has stayed the same with the 3+1 and the length of time someone needs to be a citizen of a country to count as a local player.
Players must be citizens of that nation for 1 year before the match day 1 of the ACL. So that means La Rocca still counts as a foreigner.

Though I believe that means Henrique qualifies as an Australian.

Correct. The article about him gaining citizenship is over 12 months old. He's in!

Brisbane Roar are facing Yadanarbon (Myanmar) on the 31st of January and if they get past that have to go to Korea on the 7th of Feb to face Jeju United.

Jeju is a nice island however early Feb isn't exactly the best time to be visiting.

Hopefully the club only goes into meltdown 4 or 5 times before then.
