The head of afc has only mentioned that he is aware that some arab countries are not happy, he hasnt indicated which side he on.

Lets be realistic though, if every country in asia was immensely happy with our inclusion then its fair to say we have been doing things wrong. You cannot attempt to be the big fish and not step on toes.

It was hard enough to get into asia, imo getting kicked out will be even harder as it creates the problem that oceania would not want us back. Im not sure fifa would allow it tbh.

Its not as if its been easy for us in asia though. We only just made the last world cup and our acl performances in general have been well below standard. Nor are we even the number 1 country in asia.

If they cannot beat us then its probably a good thing they cant make a world cup because they will get put to the sword.

IMO there is much more to this then meets the eye as is always the case with the afc, its probably a little politics in the back rooms as FFA are probably still making noise about qatar winning the hosting rights to the wc.

A SHOCKED Asian football chief has savaged claims on the eve of the Asian Cup final that the Confederation wants to expel Australia.

I really hope that is the end of this.

Hopefully just a case of "lost in translation."

I think this is more of a case of the anti football brigade digging up old articles and using Google translate to take some shine off a great tournament. I can smell the fear

I'd love that to be the extent of it but I think the story originally came from abroad.

Old stuff dug up and re-aligned.
It will not happen.
A SHOCKED Asian football chief has savaged claims on the eve of the Asian Cup final that the Confederation wants to expel Australia.

“Stunned” Asian Football Confederation (AFC) president Sheikh Salman Bin Ibrahim al-Khalifa has backed Australia’s membership, and told the Herald Sun that alleged comments to the contrary were “manipulated”.

According to Gallop, Australia generate the 5th most revenue from TV rights for the Asian Confederation.

Can't see them wanting to throw that away.

Does AFC see any of that?
