FC Seoul 2-0 Mariners

Completely dominated but CCM were defending well until a dubious penalty was called against them.

Had Seip sent off at 82" for high foot.

So CCM have still only won 3 of 21 matches in Asia. Victory aren't much better with 4 wins from 18 matches (5/19 if you include last week's qualifying match).

Terrible compared to Adelaide with 16 wins from 34 matches (or 17/35 including our qualifying match in 2012).

Compare the W% of each Australian team:

Adelaide 47.06% (16/34)
Newcastle 42.86% (3/7)
Sydney FC 25% (3/12)
Melbourne 22.22% (4/18)
Mariners 14.29% (3/21)
Brisbane 0% (0/6)

Lets see how the Wanderers go, but if you take Adelaide out of the equation its a pretty poor showing from the league.

For a South Australian connection - Ryan McGowan was an unused sub last night for Shandong Luneng. Sergio van Dijk and Jonas Salley's clubs are in action tonight.

Alexes Brosque and Wilkinson should also be playing tonight too.

IMO Brisbane is the worst stat. The fact they dominated Asia for so long then flopped in the ACL is such a terrible advert for the league.

Its a good laugh on FFT.com people trying to justify why AUFC have been so good but the rest poor. Every excuse under the sun.

But AUFC fans dont you ever say if it was not for ACL we probably would have won the prem in 09, they dont like it when you use their logic

MV lead 2-0 at HT but conceded 4 second half goals to lose 4-2.

WSW lost 3-1 and all goals conceded were very, very sloppy defending.

Did not see the MV game but Ccm and wsw made the league look terrible.

I don't expect them to dominate their higher paid opponents, but clumsy errors while defending have cost them big time.

I think that's a big difference between us and the rest of the aleague, we do nt concede many cheap goals in acl

Watched the first half of MV, took their chances and played relatively well considering their opponents. Second half I saw the goals GE scored and they were ridiculously good strikes. MV are the only team I'll excuse for losing this round. GE are just far too classy.

Few things to remember: all these Asian teams are in preseason right now. This is where traditionally Adelaide have cleaned up opponents who were underdone.

For all three teams to lose convincingly to preseason teams makes it that much worse.

One hilarious quote in the MV game:
Slater (first half after Victory just make it 2-0): "This would have to be the best performance of an A-League team in the history of the ACL".
Other bloke: "I think Adelaide have had a few."
Slater: "In the context it is"
Other bloke: "Games not over yet"

Or something to that effect.

Couldn't help but laugh when I checked the score this morning. Best performance by an A-League team in the ACL 2-4! Well done MV!!!

Serg came on in the 59th min for Sepahan, Jonas Salley played a full match and received a yellow card.

Bunyodkor have changed their name again?

Saw the Jeonbuk-Yokohama game. Marinos looked awful (old and slow which isn't a good combination when you are also in your pre-season!)
