A two-legged final is so lame. It isn't even a true 'final' in one sense of the word.
So true. I guess they do it to get more $$$.

I think its also to do with the fact a Japanese and Chinese club for example playing at a neutral venue (Korea) wouldn't get the big a crowd going along. I'd love to see the final played in Australia but I couldn't imagine many more then 10k rocking up to watch two non-HAL clubs play.
Its also a massive distance for a large number of fans to travel to see one of their clubs finest hours. For that reason playing it at both clubs home makes sense.

Al-Hilal VS Al-Sadd
Al-Ain VS Al-Ittihad
Pohang Steelers VS FC Seoul
Western Sydney Wanderers VS Guangzhou Evergrande
Wonderful to see Evergrande back in Oz!
This tie reminds me of the AU v Bunyodkor clash when we were no chance and Rivaldo was earning 5 times what our entire squad was on!
These guys aren't unbeatable MV proved that already this ACL with a 2-0 victory at home.

I'm of the opinion that having the first home game is an advantage so that should work in their favour.

Just the fact it's deep in off-season I don't think they'll be able to replicate MV's efforts.

The home sides from West Asia did what they need to, Al-Hilal v Al-Sadd 1-0 and Al-Ain v Al-Ittihad 2-0.

It still feels rigged though that the West and East clubs only meet in the final.

I do agree but given the logistics of it, it does make sense. Even though many clubs involved are rolling in cash the tournament itself isn't from what I hear. So this is probably just as much a cost cutting measure as it is anything.

True, though it means we won't meet Bunyodkor again unless we both reach the finals or they change the format (which seems to happen two out of every three seasons).

I like playing Bunyodkor.

Lol at Lippi complaining about "Faking"!
Anyone remind him of Italy in 2006? Grosso, Materazzi et al.
Materazzi made more of a meal out of that "headbutt" to the chest than Saba did of a sprig to the face.
Lippi should be done for the rest of the tournament, which hopefully is only one game anyway.
