David Beckham takes up China football ambassador role

Postby Stuckey Tue Mar 05, 2013 3:42 am

David Beckham has become a global ambassador for Chinese football to help the image of the country's game.

The Chinese Super League has recently been hit by the exit of ex-Chelsea striker Didier Drogba, while also suffering from a match-fixing scandal.

Beckham, 37, will combine the role with playing for Paris St-Germain.

Why spend money using Becks to make Chinese football look good when they could spend money on cleaning up Chinese football which would look far better! This is just a lame cover up job.

Indeed. Unfortunately the Chinese seem to focus on the image of the game rather than the game itself. Football in China doesn't need an improved image, it needs improved management.
