Ulsan: Ulsan Hyundai became the third K-League club in four years to be crowned Asian champions with a 3-0 win over Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia in the final of the AFC Champions League at Ulsan Munsu Stadium on Saturday.

Goals from captain Kwak Tae-hwi, Brazilian striker Rafinha (Rafael dos Santos de Oliveira) and Kim Seung-yong earned last year's K-League Cup winners their first-ever continental crown and a place at next month's FIFA Club World Cup in Japan.

I watched the game last night and Ulsan were all over Al Ahli. They played the game at Ulsan's home ground..... not sure how that was arranged however it sounds somewhat unfair for a one off game.

The venue was chosen by coin-toss when the finallists were known. Any Middle-East team complaining about a hard ACL draw is a bit rich though considering how the groups are structured.

It's also notable that all match officials were Australian.

AU would have played at home if they made that far.

When the top 8 are drawn for the finals, they draw balls from a bowl and then they draw again to see which group gets the home final if they get through. And yes, if AU had made the final we would be the hosts.
