ACL Group Stage Day 4

Postby Stuckey Tue Apr 17, 2012 5:35 pm

So fixtures today
Brisbane Roar v Ulsan
Jeonbuk v Buriram
FC Tokyo v Beijing Guoan
Guangzhou Evergrande v Kashiwa Reysol
Persepolis v Al Gharafa
Bani Yas v Al Ittihad
Al Arabi v Pakhtakor
Al Hilal v Al Shabab

Brissy really need to get the win this week they were all over Ulsan last game but received a red which killed the game off. If Ulsan play their same style Brissy should take the bacon.
Buriram have been a huge surprise for me i hope their form continues. Evergrande have been a huge disappointment for me and it will be interesting to see if they turn it round. But against a Japanese opponent may be a tough task. FC Toyko should take the points at home but this is the ACL and all my wild stabs will probably be wrong!

1 all Brissy Ulsan. Brissy looking lousy. Their goals was a lucky deflection and Ulsan's poor attacking choices is keeping Brissy in it

So Brissy lost 2-1 fair result IMO as they played terribly. Passing was all over the place and attack were so stagnate. If FC Tokyo win as they should (2-0 up) Brisbane can't make it through to the next round. So much for style over substance!

Brisbane infuriate me!!

I genuinely want to see them do well in acl as they show the world how far our league has come.

They seem to play well, last night they even had something like 60 % of the ball, but their defending is absolute spinless , the goals they are letting amount from amateur mistakes
Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie
The voice in our head is the final judge

Still Bunyodkor 2-1 in the 76th minute. Would love a Gamba equaliser to see them both on 4 points after this

That would mean we'd only need 1 point to qualify in the next two matches! :boogie:

But we'd definately want to top the group as the round of 16 match is a one off game. (not that that helped us last time :( )

Oh well, maybe Gamba won't give a crap by the time we get to them in Japan.

There have been some interesting results thus far. Bizarrely even with their loss CCM is only one win and a lot of goals behind first place.

A great away win by Pakhtakor has breathed life back into their campaign with an away win at Al Arabi. They now find themselves second in their group. I have a soft spot for this side as they are the traditional big club in Uzbekistan and have been relegated to "the other Uzbek club" status by huge amounts of oil money.

Jeonbuk seem to be finding their range once more after a couple of hard fought wins over Buriram.
