WC 2030 bid Australia?

Football Federation Australia chairman Frank Lowy and CEO Ben Buckley led the failed 2022 bid. Australia were knocked out in the first round of the Dec. 2 ballot, having gained just one vote (Getty)(WFI) Australia and Indonesia, whose bids for the 2022 World Cup were beaten by Qatar, could be part of a regional bid to host the 2030 tournament.

At the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Congress meeting over the weekend – of which both federations are part – a proposal to form a committee to prepare a regional bid for the 2030 World Cup was approved.

I think i would like Australia to be more relevent in the ASEAN confederation before they commit to another bid.
And maybe they could spend a couple of years getting the A-league up to scratch first!

I have a feeling it'll be something like USA 2026, Spain/Iberia 2030.

You're right, though, we have a lot more to focus on before taking on another bid process. We can't just keep bidding for World Cups until we get one and hope THAT stamps the mark of football in the country, we have to actually stamp it into the country beforehand.
