It's almost funny that the only nations complaining (and still complaining) about the World Cup bids are Australia, the US and England; the three most arrogant nations in the bidding process. Haven't heard boo from Iberia, Holland or the Asias.
Why is it arrogant for the English to criticise the Qatari bid? They weren't even bidding in the end.

They were criticising the Russian bid, naturally.

But they're not though. OK well some did, but most accepted that Russia had a genuine shout at hosting the cup. But they're certainly not still going on about it - what they ARE still going on about though is Qatar getting 2022, so it's not all about sour grapes.

If we are to believe Jesse Fink we would see there is a bit more talk of a split then we think.

Do you think most of the East Asian powerbrokers are just falling at the waistside for no reason?

I think there is a LOT more going on under the surface then we think.

I read the article and cannot see how swapping Iran, Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan for Solomon Islands, Fiji and New Zealand is a step forward at a national nor club club level.

There is always a lot more going on and football is loaded with politics, however a split in the confederation serves no other purpose that consolidating power bases. It certainly would be at the detriment of football.
