It was an excellent game. Qatar really squandered a fantastic opportunity. I was unhappy with the result for Australia's sake, but it kept my multi-bet alive so all is forgiven :)

Australia 0-0 Iraq

getting tense.

Iraq looking for the winner
and they nearly get it but Mark Schwarzer saves smartly on his goal line.
That was close!

98 min- extra time
Sasa Ognenovski nearly scores the goal of the tournament with a wonderful overhead bicycle kick only for Jedinak to deflect the ball over the crossbar.

Chances at both ends!

0-0

Second half of extra time.
Either team could score.

Phew that was painful. We really should have killed them off in the first half. Bring on Uzbekistan.

bloody hell that was hard, how many shots at goal do we need? I watched the game with about 10 other Aussies and 6 or 7 Iraqis which made for a good evening.

Beautiful scissor kick by Ogre by the way, he had a great game, just a pity he hit the only thing between him and the goal, Jedi's head.

I'll give and pre-game analysis of the semi as I've been watching Uzbekistan for a little while.

Great game for the neutral, heart attack material for Australian and Iraqi supporters

HT in the semi and it's 1-1.

I can't keep up with the pace!

And what a half it was!

We might be able to jag a result against either of these teams on a given day, but they are both far better teams than we are.

They are both quicker, but also flimsy. It's a delicate balance.
