I don't remember the last time I started a thread! This can be the go-to for what remains.

Adelaide have defeated Melbourne Victory 1-0 in a closed doors friendly. Ryan Kitto was the goalscorer.

Great goal.

More minutes for the youngsters and Ryan Tunnicliffe gets 30 mins from the bench.

Thank you!

Nice strike from Kitto!
I hope he gets a few during the season.

A 1-0 win at home over WSW yesterday. The Wanderers had more chances but Barr scored late in the game.

Two matches, two 1-0 wins, with both goals scored by defenders.

Good results and pleased to see we've steadied after being dumped out of the Cup.

However I'm a little concerned to read the (admittedly very scant) commentary in both matches that WSW and Victory dominated proceedings.

Not unexpected given all the kids but worrying nonetheless.

Based on the match report of the Victory game and Carl’s comments, I think the opposite was true. Dunno about the WSW game though

0-0 draw with Western United today. So in our 3 friendlies against ALM opposition late in pre-season, we have won 2 and drawn 1 while not conceding a single goal. Pretty good signs, especially defensively but it is a tad worrying that we only managed 2 goals ourselves.

The XI that started were Gauci, Madanha, Popovic, Warland, Kitto, Isaias, Duzel, Clough, Irankunda, Halloran, Bovalina.

Yull and Hiroshi unfortunately missed today’s game due to illness.

Cornthwaite said on Twitter that WUFC looked the better team in the second half but couldn’t find the breakthrough.

Good to keep a clean sheet again but goals seem hard to come by.

Opposition getting the better of us in 2/3 preseason games doesn't bode well but very keen for next Friday nonetheless.
