After watching the goal I am left wondering why Goodwin played the risky ball to Ivanovic rather than the easier ball to Clough.

Goodness me. Didn't see the game, only the result. But that is very concerning.

We are mostly unchanged from last year whereas WSW are largely a new squad.

You'd have to argue this means we've gone backwards and the stability that has been touted as reasons not to sign anyone is bogus.

Worryingly we now have no quality preseason games left being out of the cup so the prep for the season proper will be all the more difficult.

Lots of work to do.

Reading the thread and a bit online sounds like we have no midfield.

4-2-4 is stupid.

Isa and Yull are gonna get monstered this year if D'Arrigo goes and that's all we have.

7 players out injured this far into preseason is worrying too. I think Ibusuki, Ansell and Irankunda would have improved us.

Does anyone know when VDS is back? By my calcs he's been out since November 2022 which is 10 months. Thought he was a chance to return for finals last year so obviously another case of an injury taking twice as long to recover at AU.

glorified training match - people need to stop over reacting like this is a sign for the season (which is still several weeks away)

wanderers did look very slick in the first 2/3 of the match - adelaide couldnt get a pass to stick (especially in that first half)

once they took the pedal off the gas when the match was well and truly over, we looked a bit more threatening.

people also have to remember that bernado and bovalina will not be starting this season on the right hand side - for everyones issues with halloran at least he will put a shift in defensively on the wing and obivously lopez knows how to defend.

that high defensive line is going to cost us points again this year, im still not sure who is the best centreback pairing at the club either

the other cause for concern is how easy they were able to play through out midfield (clough didnt put a shift in defensively like usual) isa was his usual combative self, but is a year older and yull who has incredible potential is still finding himself at the professional level (is he a 6/8/10?)

mauks out of contract in less than 4 months, time to pay a small fee and bring him back home

also need to use that spare visa spot wisely (centreback or box to box midfielder)
