I reckon the club has been pretty transparent about what their strategy is:
1. Bring young players through with a preference for local products
2. Aim for top 3 or 4 every year

So far they've been doing that, the club has an identity again and going by crowd size and general vibes it seems to be a succesful strategy. Certainly I'm happy enough with it.

2016 was amazing and I'd love that to happen again of course but I wouldn't call what's happened the last few seasons "mediocrity". The coach, squad and fans want to win the lot. I'm sure the owners would like that too but are not going to sacrifice everything for a short term sugar hit.
