Blackwood receives the ball on his head from a Goodwin cross which is one more than Ibusuki got if I am not mistaken.
George heads over.

Much better second half; we really deserve a goal from this.

Irankunda is down with a head injury by the look of it.
Not looking good.
He is back on his feet.

George Blackwood with the last chance.
A good header but straight at the Mariner keeper.

game over.
We missed the all action man Barnett in the midfield, especially in the first half.
As Otto suggested 2 sixers and an eight and we may have a chance next week.
After the game is before the game.

Javi limping really badly on the lap around the pitch.
He’s given everything this year.
(whisper it … almost like it might be his last season)
Ansell looked bad at the end there. I’m worried for next week.
Ref was terrible. One shocker of a late tackle on Irankunda in our half … clear yellow card for deliberately bring him down to stop a counterattack … ball falls kindly (for once) and we still break out.
Surely … after the ball goes out … go back and book the player. But apparently it’s just play on boys, nothing to see here.

Crowd was 15,700 and something.
Bigger than Sydney last night?

Players gave it everything tonight. Was really pleased with the effort. CCM were just too good.
Barnett out for the season with a hammy, Ibusuki with a calf. Clough, Ansell and Lopez all proppy at the end.
Will be a miracle to turn it around next week but anything is possible.
Great crowd, atmosphere was electric.

Think we can say that CCM are a very good team, some of the qulaity in their front third is definitely superior to ours- Tulio and Cummings and even NKolo, all very difficult to contain.
Feel injuries and squad depth have caught up, Clough and Hiro still looked rusty and Barnett a big loss when we really have no one else in CM.
Our defending in the 1st half was just not good enough, too slow to close down and allowed them way too many touches in the box. Not sure how we have ended up with Warland as our main CB, he is treacle slow and a bit prone to misplacing passes to ever relax and not sure Ansell is the solution, Barr has been more of a presence IMO.
Anyway its not over yet, but honestly would be surprised if we can get the result we need in Gosford. The team has done well with the squad to make it this far, but fingers crossed they have another 2 top notch performances in them, just not sure our defence can keep us in it.

Madanha looked very on it when he came on. He's been very underutilised in the latter half of the season for mine.
It's also a bit disappointing that for all the talk of promoting young players and giving them game time. It seems exactly one of them (Irankunda) can be trusted to give any meaningful contribution in a game that matters.
