Huge game.
I'd go in unchanged, possibly Hiro for Blackwood if fully fit.

Yeah Hiro / Blackwood is my only question mark - I'd probably start Blackwood then get Big Hiro off the bench in the 2nd half to throw himself around
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Blackwood always plays better when he comes on as a sub , he is quicker and against tiring players he seems to get more chances

Based on minutes played this season, Hiroshi scores every 214 minutes. George every 221 minutes. But George gets vilified and Hiro gets lionised. Perception is everything in football.
I had the misfortune to sit next to an Adelaide 'fan' last week who was there with his young son and spent the entire time George was on the field denigrating him in the worst possible way. Then proceeded to ignore the fact that Hiro offered nothing more. I cannot understand why you would waste your whole evening running down a player who is doing their best for your own team. But he bought a ticket so I guess that's his right.
Hiro is a more sophisticated player but George produces similar results. We are not blessed with any highly competent number 9s.

George is a good honest player, who knows how to play to his strengths and recognises his limitations. Good team player who always gives 100%.
Can’t blame him for not being better than he is.

I can only think the rich vein of form that Hiro started his life at the Reds with has given us role coloured glasses. But the stats don't lie.Based on minutes played this season, Hiroshi scores every 214 minutes. George every 221 minutes. But George gets vilified and Hiro gets lionised. I don't think Ibusuki was playing that badly during his 'drought' and his poor form was most a media beatup. But also Blackwood is criminially underrated/underutilisedBased on minutes played this season, Hiroshi scores every 214 minutes. George every 221 minutes. But George gets vilified and Hiro gets lionised. Perception is everything in football.

Personally I'm a big fan of the Blackwood/Ibusuki combination in lieu of a 'proper number 10'. Particularly as Hallorans form isn't incredibly currently, there should be less issue with Blackwood getting in his way.

I've always liked Blackwood.
He is a decent squad player who works hard wherever you put him in the forward area.
That's possibly why he has not really shown what he can do consistently.
Perhaps being versatile is great for the team but not so good for the individual.

(Unfortunately it's difficult to hear the question clearly.)

Fit and will be in the squad but not sure if he'll start.Any news on Clough?
I'd go with a midfield of Isa-Barnett-Clough if he's got 60 mins in him.
Re: Preview: Adelaide United-CC Mariners Semi-Final First leg 13.05.23
Barnett missed training due to illness on Friday.
CV expects him to play but this is less than ideal. Absolutely critical cog in midfield IMO.
