the result of weak subs. Alagich has looked completely lost since going out there.

Game over.
We promised so much but failed to deliver.
But hell, 12 undefeated.

Lethargic game. Sydney looked hungrier.
Still unbeaten, and we move on.

IMO - First half we were the better team, creating the better chances. Second half Sydney dominated and we were lucky to survive as long as we did.
I’m an Alagich fan, but we lost the midfield when Barnett went off. And Halloran centrally is not a patch on Clough.

A draw, but one of our most lack-lustre performances for the season.
Barnett was probably our best tonight. He's been quite a pick-up.

If that is the best that Sadney can do, then they are in dire trouble. Their goal was a fluked goal mouth scramble - which may even have come off a Red leg. We lost the midfield in the second half, once Jay Barnett went off and looked like the AU of the first 1/3rd of the season - unsure, defensive, missing passes. Sadney should have been all of us once they owned the midfield and they were still toothless and slow.
If our first 2 chances went in, in the first 10 minutes (Goodwin & Clough?), then we would have been up 2 - 0 or 3 - 0 by the half and run away with it. As it was, we nearly stole a cheeky 1 - 0 or 2 -1.
Sadney decided that the only way to avoid being thrashed was to play keepings off, which worked for the first half. We would have rolled them in the second half, if we had still held the midfield. The second half showed how much we need Isa's hard man grit in the midfield, to give D'Arrigo , Clough and/or Barnett the space to play their natural games. Isa back next week will bring back our midfield steel.
All in all, I would give us a C+. It was not our best performance by far, but Sadney's suffocating negativity made it a grim contest to watch. If they think that playing that tactic will get them into the finals, then they are delusional.
Normal service (for us) will resume next week.

If only we had scored early with Clough and Goody,s chances.
Big crowd but pity the weather probably kept a few away, however was pretty flat atmosphere compared with other games like city
SFC really took over last 30 so a draw was fair overall.

Anyone know how long Isa is out for? We really missed him in midfield.
