Craig Goodwin

Postby MartinAUFC Tue Sep 08, 2015 5:00 pm

Watching Australia's latest round of World Cup qualifying matches on television inspired Adelaide United's Craig Goodwin, who believes a return to the Socceroos squad remains within reach.

Interesting comments from Goody in light of our discussion on his role at LB in another thread.

Good luck to him.

If he keeps improving he will get his chance.

I think if he keeps improving his delivery into the area and dead balls he'll make the step up.
Its a key area of improvement for not only him but AU as well.

I dont see how behich or davidson are much better then goodwin.

If he improves his defending i think he is a better left back then both of our current first choice players. Although i feel davidson has alot of potential just needs the game time.

BEHICH!!!!

Still holding a grudge from that 2-2 draw against Heart.

Although it was one of the most entertaining games at Coopers.

Goodwin

Postby Bptiger25 Wed Mar 29, 2023 4:34 pm

Thought that graham arnold , really doesn’t give a rats arse about the a-league, playing Goodwin to the 70 minute, when he has a game which is so important to our chances of a top 2 spot . Been a friendly he could have taken him off at 1/2 time and given another player a chance , but then he’s not a great coach , Australian side played like crap , just my thoughts

Or … Arnold really values the A-league so he substituted Goodwin with 20 minutes to play, one of our few senior and key players in the game, while the game was still in the balance. (Goodwin of course not wanting to be substituted.)

I think achieving Australia’s best result at a World Cup is a pretty good indication of his coaching ability.

Graham Arnold was voted the best coach of the World Cup by the French press. Who else would have had the courage to change our shape in the 80th minute against Argentina to a front 5?? It damn near worked too, with Garang Kuol only inches away from equalising at the death.

3 nights rest is plenty. Wasn't a bruising game and having played only 70 minutes he'll be coming into the WSW game with plenty of match sharpness.

Or … playing against Ecuador lifted his intensity and quality to a higher level and he brings that higher intensity and quality into our next game. I know I kept playing at a higher level when dropping back to a lower level.

You really need to think about what you want to say before you post. You're making yourself look pretty stupid, by intentionally misrepresenting what I said.
