Veart's handling of the red has been abysmal

ref was fine. The only real howler was the VAR not intervening on the 2nd Adelaide goal. It’s hard to support this league a lot of the times, ref is a bloody joke but what is new about that.

Yeah, very strange to just pretend for 10 minutes that it never happened and didn’t require a structural change.Veart's handling of the red has been abysmal
We concede the 3rd and he’s forced into 4-2-3, when we were already losing the midfield.
If we’d gone 4-4-1 as soon as the red came, maybe … maybe … we could have clawed our way back at 2-1 down.
Goodwin was straight … we were very poor today.

I thought the ref didn’t give us free kicks for some clear fouls on Halloran (early), Goodwin and even Irankunda (late). That repeated failure to call the foul is what led to Halloran’s first yellow, Goodwin ranting at the ref (not his usual manner) and Irankunda’s foul leading to a yellow at the end. No massive errors, but a pattern of not calling fouls in Adelaide’s favour.ref was fine. Never really enjoy Nix games in Wellington, even when we win. Something about the stadium, the grass, the commentary. At least we don't need to go back there now. Look forward to another home game finally

Better team won.
All our momentum from pre-WC now gone. Came at a bad time for the club.
Still not a terrible position after 5 away games.

Pretty mixed game and didn't deserve the points.
Goodwin had flashes, I'm honestly surprised he is playing with his injuries, I thought he'd sit out 2022 being two away trips.
Popovic inconsistent but you expect that at his age, couldn't work out what he was doing on the first goal.
Halloran seemed frustrated from the start, no idea why, maybe some Irankunda pressure? Maybe had a bad flight, who knows. Deserved his red.
Alagich struggled a bit but does have some really good touches on the ball, I hope in 2023 we're seeing he and Bernardo linking up.
Not Carl's best either but hopefully we all bounce back. It was a bad day for AU and an horrific one for the ALeague in general.

And surprisingly at the end of the weekend we’re still in 3rd and just 2 points from 2nd place.

Halloran looks frustrated regularly these days which is sad to see.
Not quite at his best anymore, perhaps in decline and things not going his way.
Hopefully he learns from this red as both yellows were deserved.
