First live game in quite a while, was a great performance for 90 mins.
Good atmosphere and crowd, disappointing to see some scuffles at end of game though......

Kitto was great, but everyone played well.
Victory looked average, Izzo looks wrong in those colours by the way too.

Didn’t Goody scored one and assist two? I thought he was excellent.
Javi also very very good as usual.
Gauci solid in the air.
Juande an absolute warrior.
The whole team played really well. I don’t think there was a weak link.

Great night!

Just need a draw in the Sydney derby and we stay second. 😁

Ahh, that was great.

Hindmarsh, Manton St, AUFC and fans needed that all round. Echoed the early days A-League seasons when Manton Street was filled with energetic (safe) chaos.

United fans following Victory fans down the road.

Apparently SAPOL were extremely over the top toward Melbourne fans - to the point of being 'worse than Weslo'.

If you can, watch the lead up to our penalty goal. VDS celebrates hard when we win the penalty and then equally as much when we score it. Love his attitude for someone who's come here from outside SA. SFC must be kicking themselves for not playing him more.

Gotta admit I thought the triple sub at 80 was a bit of a risk but every one of those players came out and made an impact. No sitting on the result and always pushing forward. It's what got us those late goals.

Still buzzing if you can't tell haha!

That was our other left foot legend Kitto with the assist for Hiro.

One of the GREAT nights at Coopers! What a crowd! What a performance! Football is back.
As someone already said, not a weak link. Bustling, energetic and classy debut from Richie's boy!
Hiro is a Reds legend already. He looked half-dead when subbed off. And that header!!!!!!!!! Even from the Northern end it was a joy to watch. Pure class.
The new stadium additions make a real difference. Nice to see the Red Army looking like more than a reconnaissance patrol.

Duh. Of course it was.
It was as good a cross as the best Goody could produce.

Roof on the East definitely increases the nise/ atmosphere, imagine the north and south all covered!!
One big negative was the food service and facilities though, it was abysmal. No napkins, big q's, no real systems or organisation, slow service, very limited food when you go served.
HT was a 25+ minute wait to be told they basically had nothing much ready, I'd honestly say that needs a massive upgrade as it is the worst in any stadium I have been to anywhere.

I also wonder if the power failure was dut to Blackwood being hooked up to a heart starter or something, as he came on and looked like he was going on the plane to Qatar :D

Didn't Goodwin assist Warland from the free kick? Or did someone else get a telling touch on the way through?

A super night and the 'correct' result, given our dominance and the filth's strange lack of interest in turning up. We had winners all over the park and they had .... not much. A couple of random observations, in no particular order ....

Javi Lopez is all class. You can see what 300 games in La Liga does for a player's technical ability. He is an evergreen. I wonder if he will stay until he hangs up his (much worn and damaged) boots? At 35, he must be thinking about the end. Let's hope he can stay with us until it really is time. Maybe we can find a coaching job for him next? Do we have a defensive coach?

Juande similarly shows the benefit of playing in Spain's lower leagues. He and Javi were coaching Alex Popovic during the match, who still has to learn about positioning when the opposition press makes it into our 18 yard box. It's great to see the wise Spanish heads passing on their knowledge to the keen - and skilful - youngster. With Ben Warland alongside Javi, Juande and Popovic, we finally have a back four that can match or better any forward line in the competition.

Ryan Kitto had a blinder and was fully justified in winning the Thomas Dale medal. He has been shaped by CV into the new Ryan Strain, swapping between a LW and wingback/extra defender as required. He's fast, too; he ran rings around Nani and made Nani look second rate. I was expecting to hear "what a waste of money!" from the Red Army every time that Nani touched the ball - which was a lot less often we might have expected.

Ethan Alagich is a keeper. He is fast, skilled and can run at defenders; not something that we have exactly been blessed with since Marcelo Carrusca retired. Plenty of upside with Richie Jnr.

Goody did what Goody does, albeit that I had my heart in my mouth when he shaped for the penalty and started with ~ 30 stutter steps before connecting with the ball. He had a spate of penalties saved last year, so it was important that that one went in. It went in so hard that it could have drilled through the net. Izzo never had a chance.

As others have said, everyone played out of his skin last night and beat the hated filth. They must be dreading us turning up at their manor and they put out that rubbish in front of their home supporters. This is the worst filth team in at least a decade. Tony Popovic was brought in on a huge contract to turn around the basket case that they were 18 months ago, but there were times last night when you could see him wondering what his team were even doing. Knowing how ruthless he is, I don't understand how Broxham even gets on the their training pitch, let alone starts every week. Broxham gifted us a penalty because George Blackwood simply ran around him. Popovic must have been apoplectic when he saw that.

Anyway, the filth's problems are theirs - and let's rejoice in how rubbish they are. We can rejoice in how strong, relentless, skilful and enjoyable to watch our lads are. Good times ahead .... in a month's time, when Septic Bladder's Corruption Cup is finally over. It will be a long month .... :-7

Yes. Goody scored one and assisted one (Warland’s).
It was my mistake in initially saying he had assisted Hiro’s goal as well which was being pointed out, to which I gave a mea culpa.

Pity about the WC break. In red hot form at the moment, best performance of the season, and now we have to break for four weeks.

I guess it's good for a few of the injured lads and some of the old boys to rest the niggles.
