We did it the hard way. Couldn’t… or wouldn’t… just keep the ball. Always looking to attack, then having to do the hard defensive running… which they did well.

Well deserved win.

We looked scrappy and rusty for the most part and only occasionally did our freeflowing, attractive game get going. It was a good tune up for when we have to face a good side. We're away to Western next and I'm pretty sure that they haven't won anything yet.

I think that Blackwood has to go behind the youngsters for the follow up striker replacement position on the bench. He is the most incredibly frustrating player to watch. Keep him in case one of the kids gets injured, but he has had an exceptionally long run and has not nailed down his position.

Best for me were Goody, Harry VDS and Kitto. Not sure if Halloran as a #10 is working .... may have to send him out wide again. Interesting to see what CV does with him in the next match.

Everyone else .... it's good to knock some rust off and build the fitness up again.

It wasn't much of a match to watch, but hey, we're back at Coopers and beginning to find a little form. Small steps.

I thought Harry was BOG for us and a bit unlucky to get the hook. He was better than Halloran both defensively and offensively, and I would have preferred Ben to go off instead.
He seems like a really good pickup.

Harry VDS might have been pulled off for fitness. He had a shorter pre-season than most of the rest of the squad.

Agree that Ben H. is not looking comfortable and 'in command' in the middle, either alongside or just behind Hiro.

VDS immediately iced his knee/calf area after being hooked so perhaps it was an injury concern. Agree with the sentiment he looks like a real pickup.

Surprised no mention for Javi for his performance. Still a class above most players at his ripe old age.

Good to get the points but we look a disjointed unit. Clough isn't going to be the answer to our 10 due to injuries (I'm tipping he won't be able to get three consecutive games in this season) so we are going to need a solution to our 10 that isn't Halloran.
