South Australian football community has been the clash between Adelaide City FC (SA) and Adelaide United FC, which is scheduled for 7.00pm (local) on Wednesday, 17 August at ServiceFM Stadium. A capacity crowd is expected for this highly anticipated match, which can only happen via the open draw nature of the Australia Cup.

Anyone know what the capacity is for there? Warm up beers at the Bridgeway Hotel sounds good!

When I put on my very old blue and white West Adelaide “Hellas” glasses, Adelaide City “Juventus” was the team we loved to beat.

Ah, the memories …

Now I just want AU to beat ever other team, full stop.

I’m also in the “support other Adelaide teams except when they play AUFC” category.
Friendly rivalry for me.

Ahh @Sevengoals, being Italian, Of course nothing was better than beating or helping Hellas get relegated back in the day. The NSL derbies were really something special though, great nights, plenty of flares etc.

But as I grew up, i realised more and more that Torino and Juventus hate each other and its hard to support any team wearing black and white, so COYR!

'Red Wig Steve' Cervaro Cup, surely
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Surely Goody is straight in for this one.

Halloran may be a bench option.

Getting excited!

Expecting City to come out like a bull at a gate but if we can weather the storm we should see our quality shine through.

3-0 AU.

Reckon it’s time we ease in some of the late arrivals such as Goodwin, Halloran and Lopez.

Bernardo is now probably fit enough to start and I’d throw Goodwin in as well and bring the other two off the bench.

This is how I’d line up

Gauci
VDS Barr Popovic Kitto
Isaias D’Arrigo
Bernardo Clough Goodwin
Ibusuki

Delianov, Lopez, Warland, Konstand, Halloran, Blackwood, Jovanovic

There's gonna be a lot of quality warming the bench this season - wow. I'm sure we will get our fair share of injuries so depth will be tested.

I'd start Blackwood over Bernado and Konst for D'Arrigo in the above.

"Carl Veart is expected to name a similar squad to the one that defeated the Jets with Javi López, Juande, and Ben Halloran available for selection. However, Craig Goodwin has been ruled out for the clash."

Wonder what the issue with Goody is.
