To give some perspective as to the gulf in finances, City arrived on a charter plane and returned via charter the same night so as to maximise recovery.

I suspect if we were to hire a charter plane it would bankrupt the club

As much maligned as the salary cap is, I do love that it allows us smaller clubs to genuinely compete each year if we get recruitment just right.

The wealthy teams will generally do better but I feel we always have a chance at silverware, which is not something you can say about other leagues around the world.

What a joke of a referee Chris Beath is. Ruined yet another game with preventing any rhythm developing by calling soft frees every time somebody fell over in the first 20 minutes, no doubt trying to exert his authority. Then proceeded to let all sorts go uncalled for the rest of the game, and duly lost control with the match descending into a niggly, bad tempered game of handbags.

CCM coach was moaning about the part time ref we had last week - well he was 10 times better than the full time clown we had last night. Well done on carrying on the Matthew Breeze tradition of over refereeing a game to death Chris.
