Adelaide United 3-1 CC Mariners

Game over.
Great win!

Anything is now possible over a two leg semi-final.

Carl Veart takes a lot of credit for that win. He's becoming the gaffer we wanted him to be.

Kept most youngsters out of the XI and then introduced to full effect.

Thought Isa was very hot and cold, so great to see the other lads stepping up.

Goodwin - usual brilliance
Popovic - Outstanding, wouldn't know he was 5 or so games in to his career.
Yengi - Great to have him back causing carnage, has a future here if he wants it
Kitto - Solid again
Bernardo - I knew he'd score when he came on, it's his first touch that does it, absolute natural.

So proud of these lads playing to each other's strengths.

Is it the filth we have now? Bring it.

Melb City on Wednesday at Coopers and then in Melbourne on Sunday.

Western United play Victory on Tuesday and Saturday.

Not the filth - MC Petrodollars, who have not beaten us all season, despite them swimming in rivers of cash. Their supporters do NOT want to face us in the semis - or anywhere, for that matter.

Firstly, what a result. Nervy at times but we defended really well and limited them to so few chances.

Big home semi now with only 3 nights to recover but we have a few players who could freshen us up a bit.

I didn't really rate the Yengi / Hiroshi combo. Both were a bit too isolated. I would prefer to see Blackwood / Yengi or Blackwood / Hiroshi for the semi.

Agree Isa had a hot and cold game. Will need him at his best against the City midfield.

Will be interesting to see how a few of the old boys pull up after that. Jako looked a bit proppy at times, Javi struggles with short turnarounds and did Kitto pop out his shoulder? He'd be a huge out if he can't play Wednesday.

As we said, winning the elimination final is a tick for the season. Anything else now is just gravy but boy how good would a final be!

Petrodollars haven't beaten any of the top 4 this season in 9 matches.

interesting ... all that cash and they still can't beat the top sides. :-7

Flat track bullies .... and flat track bullies financed by Middle Eastern oil money.

Not exactly a team to tug at the heartstrings of potential supporters is it?
