Thanks Ross
I'll put my hand up, I was sceptical when Ross came in. Some of his behaviour at Olympic and in Brisbane was undesirable but he seems have have really mellowed and did a great job when Carl was out with covid.
Hearing he's off to Japan and will be replaced by Tony Vidmar.
Looks like good moves all round.

Re: Thanks Ross
Good stint with us. Thanks Ross.
Welcome Mori - keen to see how he takes the step up!
He's retaining his position at his NPL club so it will be interesting to see if this remains a permanent appointment, particularly given it's mentioned as "interim" in the article.
I like the appointment of local coaches where possible.

I also was a bit dubious about Ross. I knew he loved the club, but just couldn't get that mental picture of his 06 GF meltdown out of my head. I guess he's mellowed a bit since then. Top job Rosco ! Maybe we will see him back in the top job some day.
I always thought Mori held a bit of a grudge against AU. Maybe felt snubbed by not being actively chased to sign up in the early days. He certainly loved scoring against us in a Glory shirt. Anyway, even if that's true, all water under the bridge I'm sure. Veart and Mori were quite the duo back in the day. Hopefully they can rekindle that magic in the dug out.
Welcome Damian and good luck.

I went back and had another look, far out, I'm traumatised again.I also was a bit dubious about Ross. That Muscat foul on Diego that went unpunished.
Ross' first yellow would probably be straight red today.
Travis not pulling the trigger with the score still at 1-0.
And the late hip and shoulder lunge with elbow and it's arrivederci Ross.
I pressed stop after that.

We did not have Satellite back then so a friend offered to video tape it so we could watch it in the afternoon.
His first question after greeting us was "what happens when there is a score draw"?
He then told us he did not know anything ... ( yea, right)
I had to sit through the game thinking about what he said and wondering how it could happen after going 2 nil up and somehow knowing that all of Vidmar's missed chances would come back to haunt us.
Fark that was hard on Australia's football supporters.

We were in Adelaide with my Austrian in-laws that summer and we all went to the Arkaba with a group of my friends to watch the match.
We had had a big night at the Cork and Cleaver the night before so match day was a bit of a blur.
There were also two Victorian dudes drinking in the sports bar who did not give a fark about "wog ball" but did not hesitate to put the boot in as the game progressed.
What a day ...
