Everyone is different aren’t they.
Some are cup half full supporters, some are cup half empty supporters, and some are cup is completely empty supporters even when the cup is nearly full.

Here are today’s only contributions from the latter, in a game that we won, to cement fourth spot on the ladder, coming from behind to score two good goals:

TheClaw
1. Complaint about Goodwin’s penalty
2. Complaint about Brook’s poor attempted clearance

Andybejiga
1. Abuse towards Cavallo
2. Complaint about Cavallo missing a shot & doubling down on Cavallo

Rojos
1. Comment about how good N’Kololo is
2. Complaint that we aren’t doing enough as the game nears its end
3. Comment that a draw would have been a fair result & that Clough hasn’t shown enough so far

Where were the comments about Ibusuki getting his 3rd in 4 games?
Where was the rapture over Irankunda’s brilliant late winner?
Where was the acknowledgement that we fight to the death … again!
Where was the recognition that we controlled more of the game than CCM?
Where was the acceptance that Tratt & Barr look to have improved and made no glaring errors this week … maybe they’re improving.
Where was the thanks for Mauk’s brilliant service to the club, even if it wasn’t his greatest game?
Where was the applause for the increased crowd that turned up?

Everyone’s different.
So many positives.
Can I ask why there’s not one positive comment?
How did I "abuse" cavallo?

Some of you guys really are stretching for stuff around here haha

Great win, once again never gave up. Importantly, played with structure and purpose. I was watching from home but the support looked terrific, when Hindmarsh comes alive towards the end of a close game it really makes a difference.
Also, anyone getting their knickers in a knot over a Pride match and crying about Cavallo getting publicity really proves its importance in the first place.
All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine.

Couldn't participate in the thread as I had unexpected guests, but had the game on in the background. Even threw my AUFC beanie at one of them when Goody missed the penalty :) You've got to love rural Japan.

Great crowd and a great day. Pumped Victory 3-0 followed by an edge-of-seat encounter with the Mariners.

Wish I was there!

Love it Otto!

😃

I'll stand by the comments, a draw would have been fair and N'Kololo for me was man of the match.

The Mauk transfer has actually worked out well in getting Clough settled, it's time for him to go now.

The club have made some good signings in key positions, finals are looking good.

Forgive me Otto, I did not see the end of the game or the 2nd half to witness the positives you have listed. You may like to acknowledge that my two comments you have labelled as complaints were made at the time they occurred, so as usual, I would have been positive on positive situations like an equaliser or a 16yo scoring a winner… Probably none of your business but I’ll explain a bit more for you. Kinda not feeling too positive with world right now, I spent 4 years of my life living in Donetsk and Kyiv, my wife is Ukrainian and her family being in a war zone for not just now but 8 years actually.. so not really seeing the glass looking half full if you know what I mean
Unless you watched a different game, what I wrote actually happened in the game or did it not?? Perhaps you could put a positive on goodys pen or brooks clearance for me and the forum?
Nice to see we are all for inclusiveness as long as you don’t have a different view of things, kinda ironic.
Also don’t forget that you can block me Otto, if it’s too much to cope with. Or Keep scrolling or ignore my comments, no need to cut and paste each of those you didn’t like👍
Such a terrible situation in Ukraine. Shocking. Devastating. Traumatising. Terrifying. I hope your wife’s family are safe and that you’re able to be in communication with them. I can only imagine how tough a time this must be for you, seeing what’s happening over there. Puts football into perspective.

I hope the late winner was able to put a smile on your face, however briefly.

Apologies to you and to the other two posters I singled out. It was uncalled for.

Pride boy has been woeful as expected
Can you just refer to him by his name? Josh Cavallo.

Why aren't you calling Goody "Dad boy" or Mauk "Straight boy" or Ibisuki "Japanese boy"?

Take your ignorance elsewhere please.
Ignorance?

Religion, politics, socialism have no place in sport

Whys the club never done a pride match before? They only do it as a token gesture after a player of theres has come out coincidentally

Holi's coming up in march, why doesn't the club do a match to support Hindus?

Maybe the club can do an "election match", for the upcoming state elections in march next?

How about in support of ukraine, they can have sunyashnikis stitched on the front of the shirt?

See where I am going with this? It's ludacris
You have missed the point. You're singling out a player for something that has nothing to do with his football. I actually thought Josh had a bad game too but you're implying it's because he's gay. Not the first time you've made comments to this effect either.

Why don't you single out Goody for his shit penalty because he's straight? "Straight boy misses the penalty as expected."

Why don't you single out Mo Toure's missed header because he's Muslim? "Muslim boy misses an open goal as expected."

The point is that there are all walks of life that play football and their beliefs / religions / sexualities should not be used to label them.

How would you feel if we singled you out for your beliefs?
"Homophobic boy misses the point as always."

Trust me Otto, seeing a 16yo kid score that rocket (on the highlights unfortunately)really did put a smile on my face. Just like Goodys pen did the opposite!!
But yes, things like are happening in Europe have really put many things in perspective including how lucky we really are in this country.
Stay well as nd hug your loved ones!! ✌️

Nowhere did I imply anything about his sexuality

If anything youre the one who's bringing up players religions, not me

And yes he's pride boy. He's a boy and has a lot of pride - how does anything I said constitute homophobia?

You sound like one of those clowns on reddit, that trys to twist words to make a mountain out of a molehill

And yes goodwins penalty was terrible, telegraphed it from the get go- he should be off penalties now, missed too many these seasons

Regarding the penalty, being of Italian backgorund, I have never been a fan of stuttter PK run ups aftter this particular shocker - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4HeTxyQKDM

How lucky I am to also support Torino where the infamous Zaza has called home for the last 3 seasons, thankfully not taking any PKs!!

Man that was an emotional roller coaster!

Coming back from behind yet again to win at home on a special night with Nestor scoring a rocket was something special. We fully deserved that win and we were the better side throughout with our never say due attitude and extra quality coming through.

Having said that, Goody’s pen was poor and he really needs to change his technique. If the keeper hold his ground, it’s so easy to save. The up and under by Brook and Tratt’s defending for the first goal was very poor and defence is still an issue. We won’t be able to run over teams every week, especially the good ones.

I think that’s a pretty balanced summary.
I do feel like we’re seeing fewer errors from Tratt & Barr week by week. A slow improvement? We can only hope so and that it continues.

Barr is improving every game which is good to see. He seems to have taken the step up from NPL in his stride after a nervy debut.

Neat little lay-off for the winner too!

Hopefully we can maintain the drive without our captain Mauk. He's been one of our best this season and just bleeds red.

Can Clough emulate his form?

I actually thought Cavallo played very well, he's a lot better at CM IMO.

Really enjoyed last night's match. It was beginning to feel like the Hindmarsh of old, with the stands (mostly) packed, AU having to fight back after falling behind and ever increasing noise from the Reds faithful. Even my 12 y.o. thoroughly enjoyed it and she is notoriously hard to keep interested. Does anyone know what the crowd number was? It felt like at least 6,000 anyway.

Clough is a keeper. He is the ready made replacement for Isa, who has dropped a couple of yards in pace since his stint in the Middle East and is now making up for his lack of pace by hacking down everyone who comes near him, which is unfortunate and is spoiling his legacy.

Goody's crossing was back to his superlative best, but oh the penalty .... CV has tried to eliminate the famous stutter from his penalty runup, but still Goody persists with it. It just telegraphs which way he is going every time. Has he now missed 3 of his last 4 penalties? I've lost count. Time to hand over the duty to whoever is wearing the captain's armband, Craig.

CV's substitutions were timely and appropriate. He has a much better feel for his squad now and who can produce what effect. A gaffer's substitutions are the only substantial intervention that he can make to influence a game while it happens - and CV's have wrought minor miracles, saving us from losing positions repeatedly. Is anyone keeping count of how many points we have won from the 80th minute of matches? It's kept us in the top 6, anyway.

Irankunda .... what a find! Absolutely fearless. The production line of young, absurdly talented African kids at AUFC continues.

The backline is gelling slowly. There is no substitute for match time, playing together and learning each other's games. it's a work in progress, but it's working.

Fantastic atmosphere at Hindmarsh again last night, as I said .... imagine how good it will be when the eastern stand finally reopens next year. Good times ahead!
