So they bought a club in Italy and announced it but no information on whether they are buying AU.

Who knows why.
But you wouldn’t want to announce until the deal is signed.
If they don’t want to sign until the new financial year then you can’t announce it.
(And no, if you sign some agreement to sign an agreement then the tax law counts it as happening at the earlier date.)

If D'Arrigo is going to sit behind Isa and Juande all year and hold back Yull and Alagich, I'd rather send him if to Catania.

Some time in Sicily might toughen him up a little as from outside looking in, he appears to be coasting.

A stint in Sicily helped Michael Corleone get a new perspective on things too

I hope that is the reason as the building industry is in bit of a crisis at the moment. Mainly appears to be small outfits, however no doubt it is causing disruptions (and opportunities) elsewhere.

Hopefully we'll know more on Friday :D

Pelligra Group: we wait patiently for the ownership takeover to be formally announced. It’s the worst kept secret in the league but there’s no word on why this hasn’t gone through yet (or if it has, why it hasn’t been announced).

It’s getting a little awkward with the Pelligra’s recent takeover of Italian Serie-D side Catania announced on Italian social media with the following:

“The Pelligra Group, owned by Italians in Australia, already have A-League’s Adelaide United in their sports portfolio.”

Nice to know.

The longer this drags on the more concerned I get it's not going to happen.

So now we know why there’s a hold up.

Ah I forgot about them. I wonder if Pelligra are keen on owning a Chinese club? I think if it was 2019 the answer to that would be very different.

The info on the CSL 2 doesn't seem complete, but they look like they are scrambling to hold on to their CSL 2 status. Which makes it pretty unlikely either club can really offer each other anything that benefits both.

Would have thought the entities to be separate and we could offload the Chinese association now.

Not sure it brought anything other than a wasted VISA position for a season or two.

Up there with Dexter Rosales, "you're son is a shit goalkeeper" and "pissant town".

Reluctant to reveal details of any grand designs whilst the sale of the Reds is pending, Pelligra revealed to FTBL: “If Adelaide does go through then we’ll definitely be connecting the two clubs (Catania and Adelaide United)

Has me absolutely frothing.....

It would be good to know what the hold up is. Haggling over price ?

I'm not familiar with the level in Serie C. Would it be on a par with the A League ? I can't see it being any higher. Tough gig for a youngster from Adelaide to blend into a squad of hard nosed, third tier Italians I would have thought.

Concerning it is taking so long and would certainly be delaying the inflow of any funds for players etc.

Probably explains why we've not yet signed anyone other than two of SFC's squaddies.

Hopefully we can get it over the line before Halloran is snapped up elsewhere.

You'd think the longer it is delayed the less likely it is to happen.
