Nice way to round out the 1st day of the year. Looking forward to it (albeit from my couch with the temperature outside hovering around freezing).

Re: Adelaide United v Wellington Phoenix 1/1/22 Preview
Going by yesterdays presser, only Yengi and Ansell are unavailable while it was implied that it was Cavallo who had covid.
With that being said, this is how I’m expecting us to line up:
Delianov
Lopez Tratt Timotheou Kitto
Isaias D’Arrigo
Halloran Mauk Goodwin
Blackwood
Gauci, Barr, Cavallo, Juande, Bernardo, M Toure, Dukuly
Given Georgie is coming back from injury and Mo can’t play more than 60 odd minutes, I wouldn’t be surprised if they play 45 each.

Line up is in
Delianov
Lopez Tratt Jakobsen Kitto
Isaias Juande
Bernardo Mauk Goodwin
Blackwood
Hall, Popovic, Barr, Timotheou, Caletti, D’Arrigo, Dukuly,
Really strange lineup with Halloran, Mo and Gauci missing with no explanation while I thought Jakobsen broke his toe or something in the last game?
Edit: Cavallo missing as well

Not a bad game against Perth. Plenty of action.

AU twitter:
Mohamed Toure and Joe Gauci both tested positive for COVID later in the week. Both are feeling okay and don't have symptoms.
Ben Halloran is unavailable and Josh Cavallo has general soreness and is a cautionary out.

Neither of them played in their correct position.Darrigo has been the 2nd worst player this season (only cavallo has been worse)The D'Arrigo thing is so strange.

Thought the idea was to pump up these young guys and sell them for profit? Difficult to do of they're played out of position and then benched.

Re: Adelaide United v Wellington Phoenix 1/1/22 Preview
I'd say Halloran is the player that tested positive for covid a few days ago. He's a big out but on the flip side I'm keen to give Bernardo a start.
Where's the striker we signed from Adelaide City? Surely we need another striker on the bench?
Usually Carl likes to have 4 or 5 strikers available per game so he can use his favoured 4-1-5 formation.

The window hasn’t opened yet so he can’t play until then. Barr can play as he’s an injury replacement.I'd say Halloran is the player that tested positive for covid a few days ago. He's a big out but on the flip side I'm keen to give Bernardo a start.

Fair enough, I didn't even think about that. The window hasn’t opened yet so he can’t play until then. Barr can play as he’s an injury replacement.I'd say Halloran is the player that tested positive for covid a few days ago. He's a big out but on the flip side I'm keen to give Bernardo a start.
