We are off to Perth to face Glory who've swapped Costa for Sturridge and brought in Sardinero, who I must admit I know nothing about. It will be interesting to see if Niyongabire gets a run with them; a player I've always rated but others less so.
Armiento may struggle to get onto the pitch with Sturridge, Formaroli & Keogh in the line-up. Still, here's to hoping he gets some minutes.
As for us, Mauk sounds like he's not ready for '90, so may start on the bench. Apart from that it appears Carl has a full list to choose from.

Hopefully Goody is fit bit I don’t want us rushing him, same with Gauci
I personally would swap Halloran and Bernardo but Carl will keep it as is
Tipping a 4-1 loss tbh.

Anyone know what the current situation is with number of substitutions and bench numbers?
Are we still at 5 subs in 3 stoppages (or HT)?
I think we had extended benches for young players 5+2 before covid, although no one took them to away games which was kind of half arsed.
Feels like an early game compared to the EPL.
I'm tipping a 1 all draw, Halloran to score.

Same as last season.
Most clubs last season took their full allotment of subs, we are just tightasses.

The line up isn't bad but I can't help but think we're in for a belting as well.
Mauk and Goodwin are the true match winners, maybe Isa, depends on how he's held up.
You just kind of expect we'll go in underdone.

Anyone know what the situation with the leadership group is? Is it still Mauk as C with Halloran as VC?

First game of the season. Been a difficult preseason for all teams so I'd expect this to be close.
An away draw would be a great result.

I had a quick look and it seems Mauk is still captain but I don't know whether there has been any official announcement for the new season.

I would have thought captaincy continues unless otherwise announced so same as last year.
