I'm just as proud of the boys tonight in a losing effort as I was last week when they held on for the win.
They gave it everything against the benchmark team of the comp.
Hats off too to the guys and girls that made it over there to support the team. True fans.

Gave it everything we had, the lads can be proud. We're limited without Goodwin and Mauk/Juric on one leg.
Surprised Cavallo never came on, Pacifique again showed he should have had more minutes this year.

.

As for the FFA/SFC
If you told me before the game Sydney would be awarded 2 pens and Adelaide denied with zero sanctions for two elbow-to-head incidents, I wouldn't have batted an eyelid.
They're a good side, they shouldn't need the free ride they get.

I'm still very agitated

Officiating is Sydney has always been diabolical, but the 2 elbows (in particular the one on tomi) had to be punished!

Finally got to watch the game on delay. Still waiting for our last 3 subs to come on... Cavallo doesn't even get a look in?

Thought we did alright, looked good at times. No doubt about it, Sydney are a tough team to play against and they definitely get the rub of the ref.

How they spent 5 minutes looking to see if Mauk obstructed the GK for our goal when he was nowhere near but spent 10 seconds looking at Juric copping the elbow that even the Sydney commentators agreed would be a foul anywhere else on the pitch.

I also need to know, doesn't make any difference at all now, but how can Sydney bring Bobo and Le Fondre in mid-season and still be under the cap. I'm not trying to be a smart arse, I'm genuinely trying to understand how they can afford the players they have within the cap. Are players willing to play for less to play for Sydney FC? Hard to ask this question without sounding sour but I just don't see how it's possible and is it something that is checked?

Marquees outside the cap - international & Aussie.
Long serving players only counting a small % of wages in the cap.
Local youngsters brought through only count a small % in the cap.
Backloading or front loading wages to later years instead of straight lining them.
Maybe it’s possible?

No doubt about it - we gave Sadney a mighty scare and if the penalty was awarded for the elbow in the back of Tomi's head - which it most certainly should have been - then we would have certainly have taken the match into extra time and then it's a coin toss. If nothing else, we knocked some off the cockiness out of the Sadney fans.

I don't care who wins the GF now, as long as it's not Sadney and their repulsive, barely literate, arrogant fans. Even the WS Wallys fans are less obnoxious than Sadney fans - and that is saying something.
"Hang on, lads; I've got a great idea".
