As bad as we are (and have been) in the 2nd half of late, it felt so, so good to claim Victory's scalp again. Always a pleasure.

Absolutely loved the wooden spoons that the Red Army were waving around

Good post. Nice to see some positivity after a good win.Substitutions were like for like, so we kept our formation well. Well done CV, learned from past two weeks.
Goodwin (who IMO has been off the boil recently) was back to his best tonight. Rarely turning back, always looking to go forward first. And he showed Juric & Yengi how to finish a one on one with the keeper with composure.
Great result.
And how good is Cavallo with that assist!!
Sure, the second half was a bit nervy but that was our 4th game in 11 days. Some people need to take that into account.

The club has managed a lot of travel, admin and squad issues to keep the side as competitive as possible. Hats off to all involved.

It was a really remarkable result. With just the slightest bit of luck, we would have been up 3 - 0 at the half, the game would have been over as a contest and we would all have been singing CV's praises (which is, I humbly submit, still justified).
The team has performed remarkably well, given all the challenges. We have the same number of wins as Sadney and the eastern states pundits are already declaring an MC Petrodollars/Sadney GF - a tad precipitately, in my view. We could be second by the end of the weekend and then be just 1 match from securing a home semi final. We have flown under the radar and the rest of the competition seems curiously oblivious to us.
It's not such a bad position to be in, because we can shock a few teams, but it is a little strange that in a 12 team competition, one of the form teams of the league is consistently overlooked.

We've been justifiably overlooked this season because whenever we are playing to seize valuable points to consolidate higher table positions, we more often than not fall flat.

Agreed. Only 3 wins in our last 10 outings. The worst form of anyone in the top 8 (yes , bar CCM (with 2 wins in their last 10).We've been justifiably overlooked this season because whenever we are playing to seize valuable points to consolidate higher table positions, we more often than not fall flat.
I think we are where we deserve to be. Our finishing just not good enough this season.
Top 4 would be very good, top 2 outstanding from here.

It was a good win considering the (partially self-imposed) circumstances and limited player availability.
I think the midfield three of Juande-Cavallo + Mauk is probably the first choice I'd be going with on current form.
