After last week’s disappointing result, I hope the boys are raring to go. Every game from now is a huge game given how tight the table is and dropping points at home will be costly.
The only time we have played WU at home was at the back end of the Verbeek era and they thumped us 5-1 so getting revenge might be in the players minds too.
I would make a couple of changes to the XI with Cavallo slotting into midfield for D’Arrigo who doesn’t seem to be contributing much and Kitto to obviously slot into left back. Hopefully Noah Smith will be back soon so we don’t have to have both Timotheou and Abetew in the match day squad lol.
Gauci
Strain Elsey Timotheou Kitto
Juande
Mauk Cavallo
Halloran Juric Goodwin
Oschenham, Marrone, Abetew, D’Arrigo, Niyongabire, Yengi, A Toure

I’d start with the same starting line up. I don’t love Kitto’s defending.

Re: Preview: AUFC v Western United 30/04
I'd probably go unchanged as well.
In what feels like the forever conundrum for Adelaide United, when we have an experienced target man we don't seem to be able to put in good crosses, when we have good crossers, there's no one there to finish.
Javi Lopez and Jakobsen are massive holes in our squad. Cavallo can cover but not create as well as Javi. Timotheou is a liability and one of the best OG assisters I've seen in a long time, maybe since 16/17 LaRocca.
It's gonna be a tough game as Veart doesn't like to change much. Berisha seems to always get the better of Elsey eventually, but he'll be looking forward to just jogging past Timotheou.

While I think unchanged is likely, it is also good to keep the squad on their toes a bit with a change now and then.

Neither do I but I think Cavallo offers more in an advanced role in midfield than D'Arrigo does not to mention playing Cavallo continually out of position could hinder his development as well.I’d start with the same starting line up. I don’t love Kitto’s defending.

Delianov will play for the NPL side to regain fitness this week while I'd imagine Noah Smith will as well.
I'd give Mo a run in the NPL too for that reason as well as the fact that picking 3 strikers on a 7 man bench is pretty pointless.

Especially if we only use 3 out of a possible 5 subs. 1 between 80-85 mins and 2 in stoppage time...Delianov will play for the NPL side to regain fitness this week while I'd imagine Noah Smith will as well.

Another big game. As someone mentioned above, we really need to be winning every home game from here on out if we want that crucial top 2 spot.
We've only picked up 5 points in our last 5 outings. Let's hope we can turn it around.
